Christmas is coming again...

In the spirit of Christmas, I decided in my infinite wisdom it was time to get a half way decent photo of both my children together. I don't know how many of you out there have tried to get a decent photo of a nearly 3 year old and a 5 week old at the same time, but let me tell you it is a lot more difficult than I ever would have imagined and I now have a new found respect for professional photographers that choose children as their prefered medium!

Anyway, without further ado, here are our attempts....

And finally, the winner is.......

Resurrection!!!

I have re-discovered this blog after a very long time of not being able to locate a certain password!

An awful lot has changed since the last time I wrote a blog on here. Samantha wasn't even 1 year old at that point and as hard to believe as it is, I now have a little girl instead of a baby. She is 2 years 7 months now and a real treasure. I am proud and more than a little frightened when I look at her and see the person she is becoming. I swear I turned around one day and she suddenly went from a baby to a toddler and then a toddler to a little girl!

We are in the 'never shuts up' stage at the moment. Talk about verbal diarrhea!

A conversation with Sam goes a little like this....

(Sam)

'Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Muuuummmmyyyy!!!'

(Me)

'Yes Samantha'

(Sam)

'Sam's hiding!'

(Me)

'Mmmm'

(Sam)

'Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Mummy, Muuuuummmmmmmyyyyyyy!!!!'

(Me)

'Yes Sam'

(Sam)

'Mummy hiding too?'

(Me)

'OK, Mummy is hiding too!'

(Sam)

'Ohhhh Mannnnnnn' - Runs off giggling! (courtesy of Dora!)

Today she managed to commentate pretty much our whole afternoon, which sounds cute, but after about 30 minutes I was seriously thinking about finding a roll of strong tape and taping those cute little lips together! Instead I had to comfort myself with chocolate - which worked by the way - except that I had to share a lot of it with a certain little person. And you would think that eating chocolate would shut her up......but no! Imagine if you will a mouth full of chocolate drool dribbling down her chin and onto me as she talks about how 'yummy' the chocolate is. 'sigh'.

So here is the new Samantha - quite a difference if I do say so!

The other way our lives have changed big time is the arrival of our baby boy. He is such a little dude and at nearly 6 weeks old reminds me so much of his big sister that it scares me - ALOT! He does the turtle poses that were endlessly entertaining when Sam was a baby, and has started really chattering and smiling at us now. I was so scared of what it would be like to have a second baby (and worried that Sam would be missing out on attention etc) but he has fit in to our family so well that it is like he was always here.

He was born 4010 grams or 8pd 8oz. Unfortunately no natural birth this time around for me. This boy was comfy in there and in no hurry to exit without being forcably evicted! He arrived after 41 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy and a lot of hours of labour by Emergency C-section.
